Who: Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5) at New England Patriots (6-2)
Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass.
When: Sunday, November 3rd, 4:25PM (ET)
TV Channel: CBS
The usual suspects, in the race for the AFC title, face off in Foxborough this weekend as the New England Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers to open the NFL’s second half. In Week 8, the Patriots ran away with 24 unanswered points to top the division rival Dolphins, 27-17, while the Steelers ruined their chance to win three straight games with a 21-18 loss to the Raiders. This game is usually the highlight of any NFL week, but the Steelers have fallen from grace and that might make this game a must-win for the them. The Patriots look to treat this game as business as usual, on the road to 7-2, and grabbing a firmer hold on the AFC East.
Here are predictions for the Steelers-Patriots matchup from two of our favorite bloggers:
“The New England Patriots have been one of the more successful teams in the NFL this season, posting a 6-2 record through eight weeks. Although they are in first place in the AFC East, Tom Brady has been heavily criticized and people have begun to question if he is still an elite passer because of his struggled this season.”
“It has been a tough start to the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers are the usually-formidable franchise has struggled to win games, accounting for just a 2-5 record through eight weeks to begin the year. Pittsburgh’s offense is not something that you would call impressive as Ben Roethlisberger has struggled to get his passing attack off the ground, accumulating 1,930 yards but just eight touchdowns for the 14th-ranked passing offense in the league.”
PREDICTION: Steelers 20, Patriots 32
“The Pats are playing with fire. These slow starts are freaky and last week against Miami was a close one. That can’t happen against a veteran team.
The Steelers and the Pats are at crossroads. New England is rebuilding it’s offense and the Steelers have gotten old. These teams still have respect for each other as champions, but right now the Pats are just better.
Plus, a win going into the break is everything the Pats want to do. I expect their offense to catch some fire and they win this game going away.”
PREDICTION: Patriots 30, Steelers 17
